Why Flexible Community Supported Agriculture?

CSA membership is a popular and convenient way for customers to enjoy fresh fruit and produce while supporting local farmers. Membership or subscription is purchased in shares; the typical duration is twenty weeks. Our CSA is unique in the fact that we are flexible and allow you to purchase extra quantities for that special party! In addition, you can place your CSA on hold up to two weeks; then it is added at the end, so you will enjoy fall items (20 week CSA only)! Westmoreland Berry Farm is a family owned farm that grows strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, plums, apricots, peaches, apples, nectarines, white peaches and much more. We are starting our own CSA to provide our members a unique way to enjoy the “Tastes of Spring and Summer”.

The CSA will start the first week in May and will end September (20 week duration). There will be a 9 week Fall CSA that will start Mid-September and end the third week in November. Each weekly share will consist of a combination of some of the following items, depending upon availability, all picked at their peak - asparagus, arugula, fresh berries (strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries-red-purple-royal) spring onions, shallots, tomatoes, squash blossoms, summer squash, winter squash, fresh elephant garlic, eggplant, assorted herbs, peaches, apricots, apples, baked goods, preserves, and salad dressing-to name a few.

Our main focus will be on the fruit and products made from the fruit grown here on the farm. Due to unforeseen weather and crop availability, we also will partner with neighboring farms to offer our customers a wider variety of premium produce. CSA’s are a unique way for people to have a better knowledge of the food they eat and how it is grown. Westmoreland Berry Farm strives to give our customers the best “Taste of Spring and Summer” as possible! We will make sure that we surprise you every week!
